Convenience Fee for Mobile Parking to Be Abolished from 16 March 2026

From 16 March 2026no convenience fee may be charged for mobile payment‑based parking. The measure represents a significant relief for customers and marks another important milestone in the development of Hungary’s digital public services.

Mobile parking allows users to manage parking quickly, easily, and accurately via their mobile phones. One of the key advantages of the service is that users pay exactly for the time they actually park, without the need to search for parking meters. Parking can be started and stopped simply and flexibly.

The abolition of the convenience fee is aligned with national digitalisation objectives aimed at expanding the use of electronic public services and improving the overall customer experience.

A similar step has already been taken in the field of electronic transport services: e‑vignette purchases have been free of convenience fees since 1 September 2025 through NMFR resellers, while offering a range of digital convenience features that support fast and user‑friendly administration.
